The Championship course is of the highest quality and offers a challenge as good as any golfer is likely to find anywhere. The courses greens are amongst the best in the country, due to no small way to the greenkeeping staff.
The Connemara Golf Club is noted for its difficult back to back par five finish. It has a rich variety of tests to excite lovers of links golf, from a tight dog-leg opener, through a treacherous par three at the 6th, and a long par four at the 8th (the most difficult hole on the front nine), to a roller-coaster back nine all the way home.
The adventure begins with a 364 yard dog-leg par four. Straight away you will notice the fantastic surroundings and you'll forget everything ….except the golf. The Connemara course has other memorable holes. The famous 13th is a testing 200 yard par three, then follows the 14th, a par five with real character. The 15th has its green camped up on the hillside and can only be attacked by aerial assault.
The 16th Green is guarded by water and then you must confront 17 and 18. Both par 5's are over 500 yards and exposed to the elements. The 18th is well-guarded by bunkers, lies in the shadow of the great clubhouse at Connemara Links golf course.. Connemara is worthy of its championship status.
