Overall the hotel is looking a bit tired, scratched and damaged furniture in bedroom, stained and damaged tables in dining room. Evening meal was not good experience, the restaurant had no note of our reservation, even though I had a confirmation, however a table was promptly made up for us. The main courses were awful, overcooked and dry pork and one of my guests had undercooked and cold chicken. Breakfast however was very good and helped to redeem the disappointment of the previous evening. Overall it would appear investment is needed for a refurb, the spa in particular is very tired, the sun lounger Matts were stained, discoloured and very uninviting. Staff were all very good. In conclusion it’s probably not the place for couples such as we were but OK for all male golf groups or societies.
The Oxfordshire Golf Club is a fantastic championship layout designed by esteemed golf architect Rees Jones who is responsible for the creation of courses such as Torrey Pines and Bethpage Black so you can rest assured knowing you are in for a real treat here.
The course is set in the heart of the Chiltern Hills and incorporates the natural landscapes, creating an exciting challenge for a whole range of golfing ability. Although the course is flanked by nothing but pure English countryside, The Oxfordshire is very accessible, located less than 30 minutes from Oxford and within an hour of London.
The accommodation at the Oxfordshire is of outstanding quality, pure luxury throughout, guests will enjoy a number of first-class facilities such as The Tempus Spa, The Sakura Restaurant and even clay pigeon shooting.
